A night to celebrate fashion at Richard Robinson Academy Gran Premier

A night of elegance and flowing creativity at Richard Robinson Academy of Fashion 2019 Gran Premiere where, not only students of this Ottawa prestigious school amazed us with their creations, but 50 years of Mr. Robinson’s atelier were celebrated.

Considered one of the most important fashion nights in The Capital, Richard Robinson’s Fashion School took over the Canadian Museum of History to deliver a stylish and spectacular event where fashion, artistry and even music were the stars of the evening.

The show opened with the breathtaking Mr. Robinson’s collection including elegant but chic gowns and hats displaying colourful pieces in purple and green all the way to neutrals, metallic and a 70’s inspired wedding dress.

The fashion exposition continued with the final collections made by the Academy students from 4th to 1st year. From formal elegant attires to the most fun and extravagant pieces all judged by a panel of well known city leaders and fashion experts who, by the end of the night, chose their favourite designer for each year division.

It was my first time being invited to this display of art and elegance and I must say I was gladly amazed. I’m a lover of the arts where fashion is my favourite type of expression. I want to thank the RR Academy not only for giving me the chance to witness this celebration, but also for encouraging their students to push themselves to their best while giving them the opportunity of showcasing their creations on such magnificent event. I can’t wait for next years show!

For this event I wanted to wear an elegant but also chic and urban look. The sequin star piece is from a vintage store, cropped top (it comes in black and water green too) and baggy pants with buttons from Zara. White shoes from L’Intervalle.

Special thanks to Ricardo Boreka for sharing with me some of his amazing pics of the show!
